Watch brand Longines previously ran a
campaign proclaiming that “Elegance is an attitude.” No doubt elegance
is an intangible quality from within that’s hard to imitate, but from a
fashion point of view, there are shortcuts to make you look more
elegant. One way is to go retro and recreate the vintage looks of
sophisticated women from the past.
The following looks are borrowed from
the styles of late female icons Grace Kelly, Audrey Hepburn and Jackie
Kennedy. All born in 1929, these women reigned over the fashion world
in the 50s and 60s, establishing everlasting styles that are still
worshipped by fashionistas nowadays.

1. Aristocratic Hats
Hats used to be of paramount importance
to show status and respect at important occasions, but now they’ve

find it sexy when my friends reapply lipstick after meals – a sign that
they care about their looks and want to look their best at all times.
4. Silk Scarf
There’s a reason why flight attendants
wear silk scarves – they’re timeless, elegant and comfortable. Tie one
around your head, on your hair or around your neck to look instantly
put-together.
5. Pearl Necklace
“Pearls are always appropriate,” said
Jackie Kennedy. Wear them in single, double or triple strands, as a
choker, or as earrings and bracelets. The older you get, the more you
realize that pearls are a girl’s second best friend (you know what a
girl’s absolute best friend is).
6. Coatdress
Similar to Jackie Kennedy’s Chanel suit,
a coatdress is less iconic but just as classy. Plaid or solid, suede or
